The UK will be 100% digital TV by 2012
Back in 2004 the UK government announced that the switchover from analog to digital TV will be completed by 2012.
No more analog broadcasts
Our existing analog TV tuners will no longer receive the 5 UK channels currently available and all the old transmitters will be switched off.
The UK's switchover will be a phased approach with different areas of the country having their transmitters switched off at different times (See right, click for larger version)
